A FATHER'S PRAYER
For my sons I have very simple prayers. I pray God protects and holds them in his loving care.
I pray that he gives them laughter and wipes every tear. I pray he soothes their minds from all unjust fears.
I pray that he guides them with his love every day, While opening closing doors and showing them the just way.
I pray as they grow, that they grow stronger in him. So that they are strong in their faith, to become honorable men.
I pray as they flourish under his watchful eye, That they find true love and few weeping eyes.
I pray that for all the years that they may see, That God grants them wisdom to be all that they can be.
I pray that he grants this father's sincere prayer, If only to allow me the joy of knowing that he cares. Ultimately, for all the many years I hope to see, I pray to see them all grow, to become better men than me.
