TRAP OF THE SUBJECTIVE MIND

In my time in the military I have seen way too many people become victims of their own subjectivity. They dwell on the things they solely believe in their own minds. This is a problem that many people have but refuse to face. It causes tiffs and separates people for ignorant reasons. When you only see things from your minds eye you give way to the illusory deception inherent in a subjective mind frame. You can become a victim to your own imagination. This is troubling in the military because if you cannot think objectively you are placing peoples fates and cares to you sole perception. You will not be effective because everything will be solely acted upon by your independent volition. To lead effectively you must be objective. You have to look at things from many different perspectives. You have to be willing to accept that your ideas may be wrong. In life some of us will make life & death decisions for other people. Whether it be in the military, for your kids, or your sick relatives we may all be called upon to make a decision that will require that we let go of our ego and place the objective over the subjective. There is no time for flights of fancy in these chaotic moments. The body and mind do as they are trained. If you never challenge yourself to be objective you will always slide to the subjective because it is your mind and it feels comfortable. I see it way too often and it can destroy professional and personal relationships. You have to make yourself be objective and set aside your personal ego to reach a accurate and realizable resolution. I felt a post on this was necessary because some individuals never think about this issue until its too late. I hope this opened some minds and I am open to talk about it more if my words were unclear. As always, be blessed!
