Lost Generation
Mystified and abandoned They tip over the edge Baffled over what’s known Misspent words fritter in their heads
Helpless and hopeless Preoccupied with unoccupied dreams They are the licentious unchaste dead Living off societies wanton means
This generation of the dissolute Empowers heroes built on lies As blood falls from the innocent They are rapt up in their alibis
Hope is a fleeting commodity Faith an ephemeral glimpse They care little about their conscience Or the value of common sense
For they are a bewildered generation Set adrift on angry seas Tossing and turning in a maelstrom That never puts their minds at ease
Depraved wanton strays Damned by distracted pride Living for licentious debauchery Waiting for Heaven and Earth to collide
